Thanks for promoting worse security through bad design. LastPass was so awful that they gave up and ended up using a piece of paper and a pencil. I tried to teach my (60+ y/o) grandparents how to use this, to help them use a password manager and get security smart. There is no quality assurance or testing being done on this app. Generating a new password requies at least 10 clicks, some of them on very tiny little icons that don't even make sense. It has inconsistent update behavior and weird select behavior. It isn't just small problems though, it will discard any changes you've made to records (thus blowing away that new password you just set). The user interface of the desktop app is an awful, bug-riddled and quirky interface. I dropped my paid account like a hot potato when I discovered that offline access did not work, and I've only encoutered more bugs since then. If you don't like it and uninstall the browser extension, the Windows desktop app has even less support than the browser extension. The browser extension version is invasive and searches the DOM of pages to find places to put the last pass icon to try and "help" you, wasting up to 5 seconds per page on this useless nonsense. A strong password combined with a two-step verification protocol provides the most protection. What a piece of junk. Add more security to your vault by two-factor authentication. Everything you save in LastPass is synced automatically so you can access them on any device. A password manager is only useful if you can access it wherever and whenever you need it. If you have any weak or reused passwords, use the LastPass password generator to create new ones and update those accounts. Take the security challenge to see how strong your passwords are.Simply click add and they will be saved for next time. As you log into your online accounts, LastPass will ask if you want to save them to your vault. It could be a quote from a movie or lyrics from a song with your favorite color at the end to make it even more secure. Create your account with one long, secure master password and let LastPass do the rest.Ī memorable passphrase is the easiest way to create a strong master password.
